At Border Tails Rescue in Northbrook, Illinois, a kind man walked into the rescue organization on Wednesday asking for information about a dog least likely to be adopted.
Show me the oldest dog who no one is going to want and that is who I will take.
Bill
The shelter manager, Stacy Zeidman initially didn’t think the man was serious, but introduced the man to Diamond. Indeed Bill was serious, and after filling out the application and having been approved, Bill arrived to pick up Diamond; an old dog who no one wanted.
Ya know kiddo, I’ve always taken the dogs that no one wants. That’s just who I am. They deserve a home too and in reality, who is going to take an old dog with tumors hanging everywhere who might not be around long?
Bill
If only “a Bill” came into the rescue organization once every two weeks, Stacy says she would be the happiest girl ever. Today, however, Diamond has a new home and gets to sleep in a nice bed with her new foster brother – a sweet fat beagle.
And of course, we couldn’t leave readers in suspense to hear how Diamond is doing.
Diamond will soon be on her own individually formulated food regimen to help her gain and maintain weight. She lucked out to find her new best friend, and Bill reminds us of the angels who truly walk among us. Stacy is hoping Bill will want to volunteer at the rescue in the future.
