Violet the dog is leaving her violent past behind. The shepherd and Labrador retriever mix from Texas had been shot at least 50 times with a pellet gun. She was found on the streets of Cleveland, Texas, scavenging for food and trying to survive. Miraculously, the friendly pooch is expected to make a full recovery with the thanks of Paw Patrol Rescue.
Along with Paw Patrol Rescue, 716 Paws rescued Violet. Her body was riddled with pellets, and both of her legs were shattered requiring multiple surgeries. The person who shot the dog is reported to have used a “high powered 20 gauge pellet gun.”
Violet’s body was also riddled 50
Plus times with a high powered 20
Gauge pellet gun. This time they shot her 50 plus times in both her back legs at close range. So close that it riddled her poor small body with pellets and shattered both her back legs requiring two different surgeries to fix her. She just had her first surgery today to amputate her one back leg where the pellets tore all the skin off the lower part of her leg to where her bones were sticking out and all her flesh was exposed. Then she will need another surgery on her other back leg to repair the severe broken leg on that side. Then her surgeon asked us to continue to pray that these remaining pellets inside her poor riddled body don’t cause her any more problems.

Violet has had one back leg amputated and still will need an additional surgery to remove pellets in her other leg.
Another dog rescued recently, named Harley, was also shot 50 plus times. His tormentor tied him up, stomped on his body and then kicked him. Harley was found in the same area as Violet. Harley’s broken femur has since been repaired with a plate and screws.
It is suspected the same person inflicted this torture on these two sweet dogs. No one can explain the abject cruelty. What could these dogs possibly have done to deserve such egregious treatment?
