When a woman failed to negotiate a curve on Highway 4 in North Escambia, Florida, she ran off the highway, hit a ditch and then went flying into the woods ending up caught between the branches of a tree on Friday morning.
According to the NorthEscambia.com, the front of the woman’s SUV landed face down on a small hill while the rear of the vehicle was 6-8 feet off the ground amid several small trees.
Firefighters from the Century Station of Escambia County Fire Department were able to stabilize the vehicle while rescue personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate the woman who was then able to crawl out and climb down a ladder to safety. Firefighters were also able to rescue the dog from the vehicle.
Neither the woman nor the dog suffered any injuries but were taken to a local hospital to be examined.
