In Des Moines, Iowa, a one-year-old loveable pup had been abandoned by her owner and left tied to a pole outside of the Des Moines International Airport. The distressing incident occurred just a few days after Christmas; the dog was not allowed to board a cross country flight with her owner, because the owner did not have a kennel.
According to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa,(ARL) the airline staff stated the owner of the dog left the airport with the dog, but returned soon after alone and boarded for the flight. The dog, now dubbed “Allie,” was later found tied up outdoors to a pole.
And guess who adopted Allie? Yes, it was a family that had seen the dog that day was able to adopt the one-year-old loveable pooch.
ALLIE UPDATE: We’re happy to tell you that Allie, the dog left at the Des Moines airport, was adopted yesterday by a family who saw her at the airport the day she was abandoned. Her new family has already reached out to us with an update, saying Allie is settling in very well.

Allie’s former owner has since been charged with animal abandonment, with criminal complaints stressing “this dog would have died if it was not for a witness.”
