UPDATE: Rescue pup ‘Bob’ who no one at adoption event noticed has been adopted

Admin

At the beginning of November 2022, a dog adoption event in Brooklyn, New York, hosted by Badass Animal Rescue, one small pooch named Bob Parr didn’t seem to have drawn any attention as the camera panned in on the pooch and his handler all by themselves.

In a TikTok video posted by Andrea Caceres, an illustrator who goes by @PetArtByAndrea, attended the busy event at Central Park and showed the sad little pup. And nearly four million views later, Bob became a household name – a pup who needed a home.

“POV: you are at an adoption event and all the adoptable dogs are getting attention except for … Bob. Please someone get him a forever home.
He is the sweetest pup. 3 Y/O very chill and perfect size for a NYC apart. available at Badass…”

It wasn’t long before a resident from Bensonhurst, whose Yorkie had just recently died, noticed Bob’s photo online, and even though she was still mourning the loss of her precious pet, just couldn’t understand how no one wanted to adopt Bob.

And then it began – Jade Letlow filled out an application for the three-year-old terrier and chihuahua mix to Badass Dog Rescue. Yes, Bob had issues; he had been in several foster homes and had not adjusted, and when the two met, Bob was so scared his entire tiny body just shook.

Then came the background check, the veterinarian checkups, the home checkup and visit and references – and then the happy news. Bob and Jade belonged to each other.

It took awhile for Bob to relax, and for the first few days Bob retreated to a corner of her apartment and refused to eat or go out for a bathroom break. With the help of a trainer from the rescue organization, lots of patience, and so much love to share by Jade, Bob started feeling a bit more comfortable, and little by little the two have become best friends.

Please note there are 42 other amazing dogs who, just like Bob and are looking for their forever families. If you are interested in adopting, the first step in the process is to complete an adoption application, link in bio.
