‘Ronald’s’ unlucky streak of 14 failed adoptions has officially ended

Admin

At the SPCA of Wake County in Raleigh, North Carolina, a one-year-old Great Pyrenees mix named Ronald has had an awful streak of bad luck – 14 adoptions have fallen through and mostly had been due to him being too strong and just too big. Well, friends – Ronald’s unlucky streak has officially ended.

He had been in 3 homes since coming to the SPCA, and was returned from each. And he had 11 other pending adoptions back out.

And it’s great news for Ronald! His new family says he is doing great with the children, and everyone in the home is just obsessed with this goofy guy. When PetRescueReport first posted his story on January 11, 2023, hundreds of readers reacted to his plight with many of them asking us for help contacting the kind staff at the SPCA of Wake County. And we did!

Please enjoy the photos of one happy dog and his new family.

For those who were interested in adoption but it didn’t work out, please take a look at some of the other wonderful rescue dogs who are still waiting for homes! From young to old, big to not-so-big, playful to couch potato, you can see them all at spcawake.org/dogs.

P.S. How about Siri who has been at the rescue for more than 400 days? Can we help her too?

Like 3-year-old Siri, who has been waiting to find a home for 400 (!) days after we rescued her from a local high-intake shelter. Why so unlucky? Siri needs a home where she can be the only pet. If you have an empty nest, maybe consider opening your home to Siri — any of the other dogs here at the shelter! They’ve been patiently waiting for someone special just like you.
