During the memorial service on Sunday for Lisa Marie Presley, a small dog wandered through the crowd as if looking for someone or maybe just a warm place to cuddle, feel safe and catch a nap.
The dog made her first round among the guests while Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York had been speaking, and then circled the crowd again when Axl Rose sang November Rain. Many wondered if the love Lisa Marie had for animals and her reputation as a foster mom had something to do with the small dog’s appearance.
Everyone there agreed Lisa would love a dog had interrupted her memorial service looking to be saved. So, we felt it appropriate to name her after the person who was the cause for her rescue.
As for the dog now officially named Lisa Marie, she has been transferred to the Tunica Humane Society where Sandy Williams had agreed to help.
Rock and roll was not the only thing Elvis Presley was the king of, and it seems his family also inherited his love for music and animals too. Although Elvis Presley had loved animals since he was a child, he was unable to afford pets. After he moved to Graceland, Elvis’ family of animals included dogs, horses, donkeys, monkeys and exotic birds.
Many thanks to all of the animal lovers at Graceland who carry on the Presley family love of animals who made her rescue possible.
