Love story of goose whose mate died and staff at cemetery take to personal ad for new love

Admin

In Marshalltown, Iowa, human hearts grieved for Blossom – a goose whose life long mate Bud recently passed away. For years, Blossom and Bud lived on the pond in Riverside Cemetery, but since Bud’s death, Blossom had spent much of her time near the front office looking at her reflection in the glass window and on model tombstones.

According to CbsNews, the cemetery’s general manager, Dorie Tammen just knew that Blossom was lonely and of course, needed company since pairs generally stay together for life. And so Dorie thought of a plan to help the lonely goose.

Yes, Tammen posted a personal ad, writing the “lonely, widowed domestic goose wanted a life partner for companionship and occasional shenanigans. Blossom is youthful, adventurous and lively.”

Although we might all be laughing or at least smiling at the thought of sending out a personal ad for a goose, it worked! Deb and Randy Hoyt, owners of a widower goose named Frankie reached out and said their goose had been lonely too and was in search of a new partner.

And it was Valentine’s Day. of course, that Blossom and Frankie went out on their first blind date. Blossom was, oh so demure and greeted Frankie with open wings.

They started walking off together, and they haven’t really left each other’s side since.
