Animal rescue organization ThisIsHouston has microchipped nearly 5,000 dogs through their Cleveland, Texas clinic and outreach events. They offer veterinarian services to dog owners who can not afford the care they need for their best friends.
What could be more frustrating to a rescue organization than picking up one of the dogs they microchipped or vetted as a stray – especially a neglected dog? And then to make matters worse – the owner no longer wants the dog back.
And here we are again; meet Bruce. This little guy is only seven-months-old and was found abandoned at an house where the former family had been evicted. The owner on his microchip stated she rehomed Bruce a while back and has no intention on claiming his back from the BARC shelter.
Bruce is on today’s euthanasia list!
Check out the video:
“I couldn’t see that this guy was injured outright, he didn’t have any sort of limp or anything I could pick up on. He is young and happy and very wiggly but not jumpy! He has one blue eye, walked easy on a leash, said hello to nearby dogs without issue, he is treat motivated and gave me kisses too! He is just a happy good boy.”
Shelter notes medical:
No noted abnormalities or pain elicited, however a workup by a veterinarian would be recommended.
Please share Bruce’s plight with friends, family, social media contacts and approved rescue organizations. Sharing saves lives and Bruce’s life depends on everyone willing to help today.
