Frosty faced senior pup adopted 12 years ago shows up back on the street now facing euthanasia

Admin

Just one more day before Jazzy is euthanized at BARC shelter in Houston; this sweet frosty faced senior was adopted 12 years ago from this very shelter, and now he was picked up as a stray on the streets. How does that happen?

At the shelter, Jazzy’s advocate spotted the sweet dog staring at her and wagging her tail.

she greeted me with a wagging tail and when i stepped into her kennel she almost made me cry. i pulled out my treat bag and she sat on command and threw her paw at me. That really solidified she was someone’s dog, and now she’s set to be euthanized…

Jazzy needs to be rescued. She does have dermatitis and is heartworm positive (which both are treatable). Sadly, when the volunteer bent down to pet her, Jazzy flinched, but she is super cute and friendly; and even though her coat has thinned out from lack of good nutrition and care, she is still gorgeous.

Perhaps Jazzy is a cattle dog and Labrador retriever blend, but despite her age, Jazzy has lots of “pep in her step.” She was easy to leash, greeted other dogs in a respectful and playful manner and is quick with those adorable tail wags.
