At the Fairfield County SC Animal Shelter, Casper was abandoned on Monday night in front of the shelter in a crate during their off hours. According to the volunteer rescue group, Friends of Fairfield County SC Animal Shelter, alongside of the dog was a note:
His name is Casper very friendly and loving. Does not do well with small dogs. Having to bring him in due to his attacking neighbor’s chihuahua. They want him put down but we let them know of us bringing him here and they agreed. He is amazing with big dogs, grown ups and he loves children. Loves fetch, eating carrots and to cuddle.
There have not been any details yet about Casper as to his age, disposition or health, however the shelter will be following up with information in the near future.
It is illegal to abandon pets. According to Sec. 4-3 Abandonment, it is unlawful to abandon an animal without securing another owner or without providing the necessities of life including water, adequate food and shelter.
