A video shared by the Humane Society for Hamilton County (Indiana) shows this Major hunk and heartthrob “majorly” depressed. Why? No one has offered to adopt this boy who has been at the shelter for more than 260 days. How is a dog supposed to get on with his life when no one seems to want him? Fortunately, the compassionate and kind shelter staff along with the volunteers make sure Major has love.

Major once had a family. When he arrived as a stray, the shelter called the number on his microchip, and they said they would be in to get him. Sadly, they never arrived, while Major seemed to have been watching for their arrival everyday, the sadness eventually took over, and it’s as if he has just given up.
The kennels cause him too much stress, so he has been moved to a visiting room, but NOTHING compares to the warmth and love of a family.
His spunky personality is dimming. This once jolly ball-lovin’ boy now sits in his room and cries endlessly.
HE NEEDS OUT NOW and hopefully we can help. Major would love to meet any dogs in your home, but would prefer a home without cats. He also needs a home where there are no small children to ensure everyone can handle his size and strength.

“Meet Major, the charismatic canine heartthrob with a personality as big as his smile! Affectionately known as “Major Hunk,” this delightful pooch is ready to steal your heart. Major is not just a dog; he’s a true companion with a big ol’ heart. Equipped with his beloved emotional support Jolly Ball, he carries a piece of comfort wherever he goes – a testament to his sweet and sensitive nature.
Playtime with Major is a blast. He’s a master of tuggie. And when he’s tuckered out, Major loves to flop over, inviting you to indulge him with belly and chest rubs, revealing his big cheeks and an even bigger grin. Major’s ideal home is one without cats or tiny kids, as his exuberance might accidentally topple the little ones. However, he welcomes potential canine siblings, and a meet-and-greet at the shelter is a must as he can be a little selective with his buddies. If you’re ready to welcome a loving, strong, and playful friend into your life, Major is the one for you!”
Major is almost five years old and has been at the shelter since 8/28/2023.
