In Troy, Alabama, five puppies were discovered in a taped up cardboard box in a dumpster on Wednesday. A woman who had been taking out her trash at a local apartment building heard tiny whining noises coming from a box in the dumpster, and didn’t waste any time trying to figure out what was happening.
With the help of the apartment manager, the two opened the sealed box and found five puppies estimated to be no more than three weeks of age. They were hot from being in a closed box in a closed metal dumpster in the summer heat.
The puppies were immediately transported to the Troy Animal Rescue Project where they are now in a foster home with a bottle feeder.
it was a miracle that someone found them before they overheated/dehydrated enough to stop whining. We were contacted to assist and immediately jumped in the truck to go to them.
