Dog’s fate hangs by a string as Kansas city shelter nears capacity

Admin

At the Wichita Animal Shelter in Kansas, a timid dog’s fate hangs by a string. AF04 is currently listed as Code Red and is past her deadline of April 4, 2023 – allotted time for finding an eligible foster home or being adopted. And today, this sweet dog, along with 12 other dogs at the shelter, are scheduled to be euthanized; time is of the essence.

This female bully breed mix is eligible for public adoption. The shelter describes her as timid with no canine courage, and in addition to the shelter being crowded and her adoption date past due, this sweet dog’s life is slated to end today.

Check out her video:

ONLY A FEW HOURS REMAIN FOR SWEET, TIMID AF04. She deserves a home where she can feel safe and loved. She needs a family who will be patient and kind; a family that will cherish her forever. Sadly, without an adoption hold or rescue tag by close of business TODAY, she will never get that chance.

Please help…. the clock is ticking and her time is running out!

Per the shelter, deadlines are firm and extensions will not be granted.

In addition, there are 12 dogs in grave danger at the Wichita Animal Services; they also must have firm placement and out of the shelter by the close of today.

With 4 dogs past their 4/4 deadline, and 8 still at risk on 4/7 deadline, TWELVE dogs are facing euthanasia today at the Wichita Animal Shelter if immediate placement is not found. The shelter is once again at capacity so tags/holds AND OUT OF BUILDING by close of business TODAY 4/7/23 to save these lives.

Many of these are young, timid, and scared dogs. They ALL deserve a chance.

HM01, LB06, EF05, EF03, EF09, DM01, AF04, NM02, JF06, SHIVA, ROMULAN, and EF01. Links to previous posts with info about each dog will be found under their picture.

These dogs are NOT in the care of Beauties and Beasts, Inc., and they are not the organization euthanizing them. The rescue organization does not make the decisions regarding who will be euthanized or when. They are a local rescue group who visits local shelters to advocate for and network the at-risk animals in hopes of saving their lives. Unless otherwise noted, it is not known if they are dog, cat, or kid friendly.

Please share their plights with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. We’ve done it before – AND we can do it again.
