It had been a frantic call from a Good Samaritan on Wednesday to Stray Rescue of St. Louis about a family of dogs – three puppies and an adult dog, living in the pipes on a construction site. The dogs were in a very dangerous situation and needed help quickly.
Within minutes, Donna Lochmann and a group of rescuers were on their way to the construction site. The dogs were hidden far back in the pipes, it seemed to have taken forever, but the task was completed, and all the dogs safely rescued.
Surprisingly, it turned out to be the father dog with the puppies; no more than a year old, and with him were his three puppies estimated to be about four months of age.
They are all absolutely gorgeous. The puppies can each go to foster homes with another happy dog in the home to show them the ropes on how to be a dog.
Ideally, these puppies would do best playing in the yard and running around with toys. They could learn that being on a leash isn’t a bad thing and brings all kinds of interesting smells and adventures.
The dad pup seems to be very friendly, and once everyone was out of the pipes, which proved to be a bit challenging for the rescuers, the PIPER family are all ready to begin their charmed lives.
