At the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh, New York, it’s been over 611 long days that Butchy has been a guest at the shelter. Yes, that’s nearly two years; and Butchy’s memories have only been one of shelter life since he was an eight-month-old puppy.
Hearts are breaking; just looking at how sad Butchy appears to be. It’s not as if the folks at the shelter aren’t nice to him; it’s because every dog deserves his own human. So far, no one has offered to be Butchy’s special someone, and we can see by his posture, he’s just sad beyond words.
Butchy is two-years-old and knows lots of commands. He’s strong and very playful along with being fun and downright goofy. He’s house trained, loves the water, and his favorite game is playing fetch.
This sweet boy does need to be the only pet in the home – please share his plight with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing helps these dogs find homes – what better happy ending could we want?
Recommended to adult-only, solo pet home.
Breed: American bulldog
A meet and greet is required at the shelter to see if everyone is a match.
