An adorable Cavapoo, named Bear, dug his way out of a deep hole in Seaton Park in Aberdeen, Scotland after having been trapped for more than 60 hours.
According to Bear’s owner, Dasha Samatoina, the two had been visiting Aberdeen from London; suddenly Bear was missing, and Dasha was “hysterical.” After all, she had just gone for a walk with her dog and a friend’s dog, Lola, in the park. What likely happened is both dogs went down a hole chasing something, but Bear was too big to escape and got stuck.
Neighbors and citizens searched for the dog, and then someone suggested to let the other dog – Lola, look and sniff around for her pal Bear. That’s exactly what happened next as Lola must have heard Bear whining. Then along with Dasha calling out Bear’s name, the search led to one of the holes at the park that had not been filled.
Here’s the amazing conclusion of this “truth is stranger than fiction” story. Bear heard his beloved human calling him, and the dog just dug and dug until the five-year-old pooch could free himself out of the hole!
I could feel he was digging under the ground – I was just hoping he was going the right way.
As soon as Bear came to the surface, he was whisked off to the veterinarian hospital where he was treated for sand in his eyes, scratches on his nose and kept overnight as he was administered fluids for dehydration.
Needless to say, both Bear and Dasha are pleased and relieved to be back together.
