At Stray Rescue of St. Louis, six newborn puppies abandoned in a plastic bin at a nearby park were brought in for help. Their umbilical cords were still attached, and they were already covered in fleas. They were only hours old. How could something like this not crack the most stoic hearts? Fortunately, help would soon be on the way.
The first task to help these little ones to survive was to find another nursing dog who would take the tiny orphans on. And here she is Mama Groovy; she had just finished weaning all of her babies. Slowly, the litter was introduced to Groovy.
Groovy was confused but very interested in them. We just checked on her again and they are all nursing! Say a prayer they are healthy. What an incredible selfless dog. She knows they need her so she will sacrifice her time and body to save them.

Groovy will be available for adoption after these puppies are weaned, and at that time it is hoped she finds a home where she is “extra spoiled.”
we’re talking a home taht lets her sleep in the big bed and gives out doggy ice cream!
We will be checking back with Groovy and her adopted litter, so stay tuned. Donations would be appreciated.
