In New Boston, Texas, a man from Fort Worth threw a small pittie type dog off of a second floor balcony at a motel last year. On Wednesday, Jerry Jermaine Mills was convicted of felony animal cruelty by a jury of his peers and sentenced to three years in a Texas prison.
Mills was also fined $3,000.
According to txktoday.com, Mills, 39, was caught on video abusing the dog in July 2022 at a local motel. A witness recorded the disturbing scene and later sent the video evidence to the New Boston Police Department.
The video showed Mills hurling the dog over the second-floor railing of the motel onto the pavement below. Mills then went downstairs, attached a leash to the dog’s collar and then slammed the dog to the ground before kicking it and dragging the defenseless and terrified pup up the stairs.
When confronted by authorities, Mills said he had become frustrated with the dog, but insisted what he had done to the puppy was not “beating the dog.”
The dog has since been adopted and is living a wonderful new life.
