Throwaway senior waits for someone to love him in a throwaway animal shelter

Admin

Still at the shelter. Please help.

Prince was surrendered to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter in June; his family said they were moving and could not take their 11-year-old dog with them. Sadly, such a royal name didn’t command royal treatment.

In the past, Prince has lived with another small dog and did fine. He has also be in attendance at the small dog playgroups and enjoys the company of other dogs. A home with another small dog would be fine, as long as their is a “meet and greet” first at the shelter to make sure the dogs are compatible.

Poor Prince, shook like a leaf when he first arrived at the shelter on June 7, but has since been making slow progress. It’s as if he knew he was being thrown away but couldn’t understand why he was abandoned by the only family he ever knew. It will take someone patient to help Prince transition into a new home. As per his previous owners, Prince becomes very attached to his “person.”

PetHarbor Adoption Listing:

PRINCE #A302297

My name is Prince and I am an unaltered male, white Lhasa Apso and Poodle – Miniature.

The shelter staff think I am about 11 years old.

I have been at the shelter since Jun 07, 2023.

The best future home for Prince will be quiet and filled with love. He does fine with cats, but again, an introduction to the other pets in the home are required for a harmonious life with this sweetheart.

Please share his plight with family, friends and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
