Huggable Boxer puppy returned by adopter for being ‘too active’

Admin

The excuses for returning dogs to shelters within just days or weeks are insufferable. Dogs are sentient beings and need time to adjust to family life, which includes time to destress from shelter life and build their own emotional attachments to new people. And even though a shelter dog’s behavior can ebb and flow for the first six months, it’s up to his new family to help make the transition as smooth and calm.

So here we have a friendly seven-month-old puppy named Pipo who arrived at the San Bernardino City Shelter two months ago, was recently adopted and just as quickly returned because he was “active.” He’s a puppy!

Adoption Offering:

PIPO – ID#A563051

My name is Pipo and I am an unaltered male, tan and black Great Dane mix. Shelter staff think I am about 7 months old. I have been at the shelter since Apr 10, 2024.

For more information about the adoption process,
click here: Animal Control. Note that the last adoption will start at 3:30 pm. For more information about this animal, call San Bernardino City Animal Control at (909) 384-1304.
Ask for information about animal ID number A563051.

And now by no fault of his own, Pipo moves closer to the end of his life when this should be just the beginning of love, security and adventures.

What about me? Over a month I have been in the kennel at the shelter – no Hugs, grass or family to love.

Facebook description for Pipo

According to Pipo’s one description, he has been listed as a Great Dane mix. The other listing from the shelter states he is a Boxer mix. He is friendly and gets along with other dogs.

Please share Pipo’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
