Drogo, a two-year-old American pit bull mix, had waited nearly two years at the Austin Animal Shelter in Texas for a home. A shelter favorite among the staff, the sweet dog loved going for walks and loved snuggles even more.
And then that sunny day in July began with a family who arrived at the shelter to adopt Drogo. Oh happy day! Sadly, Drogo didn’t work out with the family, or maybe the family didn’t work out with Drogo, but regardless of the circumstances, Drogo was returned to the shelter. It was reported the dog had “nipped” the adopter.
His short TikTok clip tells the story:
Sadly, Drogo is very stressed back at the shelter. He doesn’t understand how he could be back when it seemed like minutes ago, he had a real home. Now the constant barking noise from the other dogs continue to stress this poor soul; even though the kind staff has been doing all they can to help him.
Drogo is described as a charmer who loves to meet people. He loves to play, and when he’s brought back from his walks, has a preference to relax on your lap. He is house trained, and when he needs to do his business, he will pace in front of his person until he is taken outdoors.
It is preferred Drogo be the only pet in the home, and according to the shelter:
a family with no other pets who will give him some time to decompress after spending a year and a half in the shelter.
