At the MaxFund Animal Shelter in Denver, Colorado, Simba has not given up hope that a family will one day arrive at the shelter and take him home. The French mastiff is a 100-pound snuggly pup who would do best as an only dog in the home.
It was on Thursday that the shelter decided to highlight Simba’s story on Facebook, and we all know how social media has helped so many of our furry companions homes.
Simba is one of our long-term residents, surrendered to our facility in June 2021. That’s 801 days – or over two years. Not only that, but Simba isn’t yet three years old, meaning he’s spent most of his life at maxFund.
Simba is definitely one of the staff favorites, and everyone at the shelter tries to do the best they can to make him as comfortable as possible. Of course, there could be nothing better than Simba going to his very own home, however in the interim he has his own suite inside of the shelter.
Simba needs someone who understands he’s a unique boy looking for unique care.
While Simba does not get along with all dogs and would do best as the only dog in the household, that doesn’t mean he’s a bad dog! Don’t forget: dogs who don’t enjoy all other dogs aren’t flawed! They just need different care than others, but they’re just as awesome.
Simba’s story has attracted lots of attention, but he’s still patiently waiting. On a Facebook post, Simba has been portrayed as “a big ol’ softy” that loves attention and loves to show off his toys.
Can you provide this handsome man with a happy and fulfilling life? If you would like to meet Simba, please contact our dog shelter in advance.
