After 13 years dog with kind heart and sweet face thrown away to die alone at NYC shelter

Admin

Meet Ramsey; he’s friendly and outgoing and has been at the Staten Island section of the New York Animal Care Centers since May 2023. Information made available about Ramsey indicates he had been handed off to a friend in an attempt to find him a new home. When that friend decided she was too busy working long hours, she shipped Ramsey off to a kill shelter; out of sight and out of mind.

Fortunately, Ramsey’s easy going personality allowed him to adjust to shelter life, and he was happy to go for walks, receive attention and loved the treats offered to him. It seems this senior was just as content to watch other dogs play fetch rather than him.

Sadly, the shelter neglected to alert rescuers that Ramsey had been placed on the euthanasia list. Nothing had been done to even help Ramsey find help; his future remains up in the air.

Check out one of his videos:

What a sweetheart who deserves better!

“Ramsey has lumps and bumps that come along with age, but one is growing that needs to be checked by a vet. Hoping someone sees him that loves the old boyz so he can spend his days as a pampered couch potato. RAMSEY #171067.”

A $500 stipend is being offered to any New Hope rescue that pulls Ramsey!

Staten Island Shelter Dogs writes “Ramsey is a good boy. He’s been here for so long. He loves his treats, and he’s great on leash. It’s time he spends some quality time in a new home.”
