Meet Hooch; this young dog is scheduled to be euthanized at anytime now, and like so many other dogs at the Brooklyn shelter for New York City’s Animal Care Centers, Hooch has been struggling with the stress and anxiety of the scary shelter conditions.
When Hooch entered the shelter, he was very friendly and allowed all handling while being examined. He even approached the counselor and placed his head on her lap.
A volunteer at the shelter who interacted with Hooch made the following observations:
Handsome boy HOOCH would love to find a patient pawparent who has time to play with him! He loves chicken and takes treats with a soft mouth. When he arrived at the shelter, he played with a squeaky toy and wagged his tail. He’s such a good boy and he walks well on leash! He’s ok with dogs but needs slow intros as right now shelter life is stressing him.
