At the Devore Animal Shelter in California for five long months, not one visitor bothered to turn around and look into the shelter cage where a disheveled, skunk sprayed “senior” dog waited to be noticed. The husky, named Bear, didn’t seem to have had any luck; not even the shelter staff had cleaned him up or tried to make him more presentable; just so people would notice him?
And so we meet the TikTok account of Johnny (@manwith2 dogs) who posted, “I save dogs to the best of my ability and build decent race cars.”
Meet Bear:
According to the video, Johnny arrived at the shelter and met the husky for the first time, and from the moment the two met, Bear seemed comfortable, wagged his tail, sniffed around, and apparently was ready to get out of the shelter. No one at the California based shelter knew why Bear had been shaved and his coat seemingly damaged, but the dog didn’t seem bothered. As to Bear’s age, that did create some confusion. Shelter notes indicated Bear was about nine years old, and then it was posted the dog might have been a puppy less than a year.
Nevertheless, Bear and Johnny hit it off immediately, and their short clip on TikTok has garnered nearly 80,000 viewers.
In a follow-up video, we can all see how well Bear has adapted to his new home and how much better he looks. Check this out:
