Amazing shepherd has been at shelter for over a year and a half and his life is slated to end

Meet Simba; this beautiful three-year-old German shepherd has been at the East Valley Shelter in Van Nuys, California since August 2, 2022. He has been scheduled to be euthanized at any time because of the shelter’s overcrowded conditions. According to shelter notes, Simba loves other dogs and people. Why should today be his last day?

“Leashed Simba from back cubby after separated from kennel mate. As usual, very strong pull to yard. He brought me tennis balls to throw. He greeted dog in next yard. He explored and jumped in baby pool; all his normal routines. Liked to be petted – waggy and relaxed. Easy to return.”
