In Los Angeles, California, volunteers at West Valley Animal Care and Control have reached out to the public for help with Sherlock. The shelter has identified him as a Norwich terrier; he is an intact, seven-year-old male who entered the shelter three days ago without any identification or microchip.
When Sherlock arrived, he was a matted mess. He has since been shaved down and undoubtedly much more comfortable. Sadly, he is currently at a high kill shelter, and a euthanasia command has been ordered for Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. if he is not rescued, placed in foster care of adopted.
No doubt Sherlock has been terribly neglected, and his veterinary examination notes state he has severe dental disease and has had a seizure. Read part of his medical evaluation here:
