Not one adoption inquiry for stunning puppy ‘Olive’ rescued off Texas street

Admin

At ThisIsHouston, when only eight-weeks-old, Olive was found by herself more than a month ago roaming the streets in Cleveland, Texas. She is believed to be a Great Pyrenees blend, and when discovered the ten-pound puppy was infested with fleas, roundworms and bot fly larvae.

Olive is reported to be dog friendly, is progressing on her bathroom and kennel training skills, is healthy with no current medical issues and is ready to find a wonderful, loving home. No one, however has even applied to meet her.

On the Facebook page for ThisIsHouston, there have been hundreds of positive comments about Olive, yet no one has offered to adopt. Therefore, we are hoping that bringing her photos and her story to social media will help her find her very own person(s).

Olive has been at the rescue since April, and that’s a long time for a puppy. The rescue is currently full of cute puppies – growing up in foster homes for up to one year.

So imagine, if this girl cannot find a home, imagine the difficulty finding a home (or even a foster home) for an adult large breed or an adult with behavioral issues (we have three of those by the way). Every rescue organization I know is struggling right now, yet the number of dogs in need seems to be increasing daily.
