At the Hillsborough County Pet Rescue Center, the success of a recent adoption event left their kennels “completely empty.”

This is because of you!

Because of your support during this year’s Mega Adoption Event, our B kennel is completely EMPTY.

Every empty kennel means a pup is resting their head in their new home.

On May 22, volunteers and staff announced the amazing news on social media, thanking everyone for their hard work and subsequent adoptions during this Mega Adoption Event. The video shows volunteers and staff alike all waving and yelling while standing at the doors of the kennels with not a dog needing a home in sight!

Before the planned adoption event, the public shelter has struggled with overcrowding for months. The Hillsborough County, Florida, spokesperson estimated that the shelter was at 150 percent capacity before The Mega Adoption Event.

The 123 adoptions helped the Pet Resource Center free up some much-needed space, which will go to other pets looking for forever families.

The adoption event ran for three days; 459 dogs found homes including 123 from the Pet Resource Center.

There are still pets in need of new homes. Please click here for more information. Why shop for your next best friend when you can adopt.
