Shelter inmates made the best of their situation until one dog adopted and other moved to euth’ list

Admin

At the City of San Bernardino Animal Control Shelter, two stray dogs were able to bond even though they did not arrive at the shelter together. They ate, slept and cuddled together – warming our hearts and giving us all hope the two would be adopted soon, even if not together, and enjoy their lives with their new families.

And as much comfort their friendship provided while having to deal with a noisy, overcrowded and scary shelter, one of the dogs was adopted; leaving the other dog alone and then moved to the euthanasia list for being at the shelter too long.

The white dog shown in the photo entered the shelter on September 11, 2023; she has since been adopted.

The dark colored dog who is only 10-months-old, originally entered the shelter with her sibling who was also adopted, has been at the shelter since September 8, 2023 when records show she had been impounded.

Her name is Lavender; here is her adoption listing:

LAVENDER – ID#A559098

My name is Lavender, and I am an unaltered female, brown Doberman Pinscher mix. Shelter staff think I am about 9 months old. I have been at the shelter since Sep 08, 2023. For more information about this animal, call San Bernardino City Animal Control at (909) 384-1304.
Ask for information about animal ID number A559098.

Please share Lavender’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Follow here.

It really hurts my heart to see the white dog was adopted on 12/6 and her sable-colored friend was left behind with no one to comfort her. She was already left behind when her sister got adopted. Now she’s all alone
