Kenny is the world’s sweetest gentle giant who was lucky enough to have been rescued yesterday by Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Kenny’s photo and medical condition made its way across social media, and animal advocates and rescuers asked for help.
Here’s how Kenny’s rescue efforts began:
kenny A2352135 is a friendly, 12-year-old intact male, 55 lbs, hw negative, who has a large mass on the left side of his face. kenny has poor body condition with generalized muscle wasting. overgrown nails and very flakely skin. prolonged skin tent consistent with marked dehydration….
And the list of health condition affecting this poor guy went on to include severe dental disease, bone loss, hair and debris caked into his fur, left eye sunken and vision impaired. And the list continued, but Kenny’s spirit and gratefulness have never stopped.
When Kenny arrived at the Tampa shelter as a stray, his sweet personality and his desire to be with people and accept love won over the staff. Of course, his veterinarian needs would be expensive; no other rescue organizations stepped up to help, but Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue came to his rescue. This non profit organization caters to seniors, special needs and end of life/critical care needs.
Funds continue to be raised for Kenny’s needs. Today, he will be neutered which will give him prostrate relief. He will also undergo major dental surgery, and it is expected he will be losing most of his teeth.
He was full of kisses this morning. He is so very grateful. When I look at him i just die inside knowing he suffered for so long before rescue. But heaven and earth is being moved for him…he has a long road ahead.
If you look at his face, read the notes about how sweet this old guy is and just think about how his future will be full of excellent care and love – no matter how long Kenny has, it warms our hearts; perhaps more at this time of year, but nevertheless don’t the mistreated, neglected and senior pups deserve love and care too?
Kenny continues to need emergency donations. Supporter Dustin DeNunzio just offered end of year match of $2023. Donations can be made via PayPal at WWW.PPPRDOLLAR.COM or call clinic directly at 727-526-8700 and make donation.
