What could be more heartbreaking than watching a dog’s bubbly personality change to a sullen looking sad face after having spent 469 days in an animal shelter without any adoption offers? Well, we wanted to provide an ear to ear smile update of Siberian husky, Ace, and his extended stay at the Sonoma County Animal Shelter.
It had been in September when Ace gained national attention after a TikTok video went viral. Ace had been an active and very cheerful pooch when he entered the shelter. Sadly, more than 430 days in the shelter, that precious look of excitement and hope finding someone to love him and fill his days with adventures and his nights with love, seemed to have disappeared. Fortunately, Ace had lots of awesome volunteers and staff at the shelter to keep his spirits up until his dream came true.
Check out his TikTok video which garnered more than 1.5 million views.
With the video getting really popular, we had a lot of interest coming in for ace, which made me really happy because it means, he’s getting seen and he’s that much more likely to get adopted.

And then came this video; we all could not be happier:
After 469 days in the shelter, Ace was adopted!!!
We are so happy for this sweet boy and grateful to his new family for adopting from us. Ace even has a new Husky sibling!
Please continue to share the stories of the dogs and cats who need homes. Hopefully, it doesn’t take this long, but as you can see, sharing saves lives.
Pet Rescue Report loves these stories and loves sharing them with you. Happy days Ace – you certainly deserve to live your best life.
