Urgent help is needed for a litter of puppies (dubbed the Popsicle Litter) dumped on Friday at a baseball field during the Arctic blast in Dallas, Texas. Luckily, a Good Samaritan had been walking in the area and heard the puppies plaintive cries and stopped to investigate the sealed rubber container lying on the side of the field.
Animal Control was immediately contacted, and the puppies were brought to safety at Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform. The puppies only weigh two to three pounds each and are in serious condition. They are all severely anemic and suffer from worms. They have been vomiting and passing worms, and it is unimaginable how anyone could allow this to happen to such helpless little puppies. And then, to make matters even worse; stuff them all in a plastic bin and abandon them in the freezing cold?
The puppies remain in guarded condition, but one particular puppy dubbed Klondike is in critical condition. He is currently receiving life-saving care at the emergency veterinarian hospital as he continues to face multiple health challenges. His albumin level is alarmingly low, and he has since received a transfusion to help stabilize him. He is also heavily infested with worms, making his fight to survive an uphill battle.
And as of Saturday morning, Klondike has been experiencing seizures; the dedicated team is trying every medical intervention available to give him the best chance for recovery.
To make matters worse, Klondike has been experiencing seizure activity, adding another layer of concern for his well-being. Our dedicated team is working tirelessly to stabilize him and provide the necessary medical interventions to give him the best chance at a full recovery.
Please keep Klondike and his siblings in your thoughts as they navigate this challenging journey. They have already endured so much, and your support means the world to them and to us.
