On Friday afternoon, the bomb squad was called to checkout a strange package at the bus station in the Long Beach, California area. Because it was an abandoned box, both police and bomb experts were immediately dispatched to the location.
Imagine the surprise, when officers carefully opened the cardboard box, and a little curly white poodle head popped out? The dog had been bleeding and caused even more concern when authorities saw blood seeping out of the box before police were able to determine there was no explosive device.
It appears as if someone tried to cut the dog with a sharp instrument; perhaps a machete.
Authorities contacted Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, who answered the plea for assistance. The ailing little poodle was rushed to the organization’s partner veterinarian for help. He is now on fluids with strong antibiotics and pain medication. He continues to be monitored to make sure the wound doesn’t go septic.
His name is Token, and everyone is hoping his new life will be better. Updates will follow.
