“Not all patients are human,” the Muddy Brook Fire Department posted on their Facebook page after firemen arrived at the scene of a rollover crash involving downed electrical wires. The accident occurred in Woodstock, Connecticut, and the heroes for the day rescued the occupants of the vehicle and 14 puppies

On Thursday morning, the crew was called out to help; the downed power lines had to be cut by Eversource before officers could rescue the people and the puppies in the vehicle.

Fortunately, no people were injured. As for the puppies, Necogg Humane Society and Dr. Gwenn from Peake Brook Veterinary Center responded to the scene to provide veterinary care and shelter to the animals. Some puppies had to be taken to Tufts for further care. Sadly, one puppy is reported to have died.

Sometimes people get frustrated and upset when I’m late for appointments or need to reschedule. I promise, it’s not because I went to the beach. I’m so honored to have the best staff that always show up when I need them.

The operator of the vehicle stated he had been transporting the puppies at the time of the accident. Nine of the puppies have since been released to the humane society.
