Pup lost for 10 days emotional reunion as owner and dachshund reunite

Admin

A miniature two-year-old dachshund named Mila had quite an adventure after having been missing from her home for ten days in Cambridgeshire, England. The pint sized pooch had escaped from her dog sitter after the front door was mistakenly left open at the end of May.

Mila’s owner, Karen Higgens and her young daughter, were truly heartbroken after hearing about her dog’s disappearance. She tried everything to lure her little friend home, including putting out smelly sardines and even leaving the front door of her home open for two days, hoping Mila would run back home.

Ten days later, Mila was still missing; friends and neighbors had scoured the area in the small village looking for her, but at the time it seemed as if Mila would never return.

Then on June 5, there was a sighting by a local farmer. He saw her running in front of plowing machinery while he was tending to his fields. Karen was notified and quickly employed the use of a drone to pinpoint the dog’s exact location.

It was Drone to Home who made the difference:

Tissues definitely ready for this one. Happy tears.

This little girl had been missing for 9 days and hadn’t been seen since the day she went missing.

Many had helped search but to no avail. Thank you to everyone but a special thanks to our Drone To Home drone operator volunteer who went above and beyond supporting the family. Thank you Mick.

Today one of our experienced drone searchers attended to see if anything had been missed and the results speak for themselves.

A huge thank you to the family and especially the daughter who was a star. Thank you.

Another extremely happy family today.

Please consider donating to the Drone To Home Charity. Just £3 a month ( tick the gift aid box if you’re a UK tax payer) will help us keep reuniting these missing doggies .

And it was a classic and loving reunion. It was the magic moment when Mila spotted Karen; the pup made a mad dash towards Karen and her daughter Alannah. Mila was home!

Nothing wrong believing in miracles!
