In the Wythe County, Virginia a neighbor called authorities after hearing a dog screaming in pain.
“…On the third night, she called animal control who followed the screaming which led them to a dog with her feet mangled and ripped off, intentionally locked in a shed,” S.N.A.R.R. Animal Rescue Northeast wrote on their Facebook page on Wednesday evening asking their followers for help.
When officers opened the door to the shed, they found Sassy – suffering, terrified and hiding. In shock, she continued to scream in pain as maggots crawled through her wounds, her mouth and even in her eyes.
And in another example of giving hope to the hopeless, S.N.A.R.R. Animal Rescue Northeast, will transfer Sassy to their emergency veterinarian hospital partner where she will be administered life-saving care.
