Mustached freeway kitten saved off busy Houston highway

Admin

In Houston, Texas, a kitten with the most adorable mustache was rescued on Sunday night from a busy highway. He was perched on a “barrier between six lanes of traffic on 610.”

According to the Houston SPCA Facebook page, photos show the frightened feline watching the traffic and most likely too scared to move. A passer-by saw the cat and notified one of the organization’s 24-hour-ambulances of the cat’s situation.

“HAIR-RAISING RESCUE: A 6-month-old kitten found himself trapped on a barrier between six lanes of traffic on 610/59! Thankfully, our rescue ambulance tech Megan rescued him in time where he is now safely in our care and will be checked out by our great veterinary team,” the organization posted.

The kitten has been named Captain Hook and will soon be available for adoption once he is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. He has been described as extremely sweet and already has a list of potential adopters who have fallen in love with his face.

Anyone finding an injured animal or one in need, contact the Houston SPCA; call their 24-hour ambulance at 713.880.HELP.
