A faithful 11-year-old senior is in need of urgent help. Tobias had been adopted from Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control in 2018, and sadly was returned to the shelter today because his owner was moving to an assisted living facility.
The tearful separation was indeed heartbreaking, and Tobias’ human wanted to let volunteers and staff at the shelter know that this sweet boy loves playing fetch, knows basic commands, has lived with another dog and does fine in the company of other dogs.
After an initial physical examination at the shelter by veterinarians, Tobias is considered thin with muscle wasting, and he has moderate dental disease. He also has a low-grade (ll) focal apical systolic heart murmur and an increased heart rate at the time of this examination. He did well during processing, is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
For someone with a huge, compassionate heart or an approved rescue organization, Tobias needs urgent rescue. His deadline is listed as February 26, 2024. He will need geriatric care, but if we’re lucky, won’t we all need care when we’re old, and doesn’t Tobias deserve his own “golden years” living in comfort with lots of love to help heal his broken heart?
