Cat found frozen and stuck in shipping container recovering at ARL

Admin

In Dedham, Massachusetts, a stray cat was discovered frozen and stuck in a shipping container outside of TGI Friday’s along Providence Highway on Wednesday.

According to the press release from the Animal Rescue League of Boston, the adorable kitty now named Schooner, may have had wet fur when he came into contact with the container and immediately stuck. It is not known how long he had been in there.

Amazingly, Schooner did not suffer from hypothermia but was very thin, dehydrated and had the “typical bumps and bruises of living outdoors,” including a fractured tooth.

“While at ARL in Dedham, Schooner has eaten ravenously and has already gained a pound and he has also become a staff favorite for his easy-going and friendly demeanor.”

For the next few weeks, Schooner will be living with his foster family while he fully recovers and gains weight. After that, this incredibly lucky kitty with just eight-lives left, will be available for adoption.

For more information and how you can help, please consider donating to ARL this holiday season, so together we can help animals like Schooner and thousands like him!
