At the Hillsborough County Animal Services near Tampa, Florida, an emaciated six-year-old St. Bernard was picked up as a stray three days ago. The shelter has put out a rescue plea to the community for help:
“This is Petunia a very sweet, emaciated older girl. She was a stray and is 98 pounds. She had surgery for pyometra on 2/24 and needs follow up veterinary care for the pyometra and general poor condition. Very nice lady, good appetite, long term prognosis could be poor if patient has other undiagnosed issues. Radiographs and bloodwork available. Medical attached. She is ready to pick up today if you can take her.”
