UPDATE: Great Dane found as stray in field

Admin

Who wouldn’t notice if their Great Dane was missing from home or the backyard? Less than a week ago, Button was brought to Los Angeles County Animal Control – Downey. He was found as a stray; the blue merle had been estimated only to be one-year-old.

PetHarbor adoption listing.

Button ID#A5363426. My name is Button and I am described as a male, blue merle Great Dane. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year old. I have been at the shelter since Apr 22, 2020.

His story quickly picked up attention on social media, and his plight caught the attention of Regal Dane Rescue and on Sunday, Button left the shelter.

“This boy has left the shelter! Here is a picture as he was leaving. His ‘happy tail’ must have been pretty bad as the shelter amputated almost his entire tail. I hear he is very sweet,” a rescuer posted on social media.

Many thanks to everyone who shared this boy’s story. Many thanks to the rescuers involved in coordinating this dog’s rescue, and many thanks to the people who will make sure more pets are rescued every day.
