A scared dog who had fallen into a narrow gap between a concrete wall and a fence was rescued on Monday morning by a Colorado animal protection officer.
According to the Denver Animal Shelter, rescuers were able to calm the pooch down with some soft talk and an ice cream cone from a neighbor. Aren’t lost children given ice cream cones to calm them down, so why not a scared, lost pup?
Animal Protection Officer Jenna Humphreys assisted by Officer Ettinger were able to pull the pup to safety. He was given the name Frederick and is doing well despite some injuries sustained while he was stuck and struggling to get free.
Officers are still trying to find his owner. Please share his photos and his plight – let’s reunite Frederick with his family.
