Splinter had an adoption promise yesterday, but the person stood him up and never even called. Poor Splinter had been primped and fluffed a bit, his friends told him he was being adopted, but that was not to be.
And now, one day later, Splinter is on the euthanasia list at Miami-Dade Animal Services. He was only given eight days to find help. There were a lot of pleas sent out. Everyone thought he was wanted when a person responded and offered to give him a home, but he never showed up.

It seems as if the shelter doesn’t think anyone wants an old obese dog like Splinter with old dog issues. They probably think he’s just taking up space. He doesn’t walk well due to arthritis. His eyelids are inverted and he has nuclear sclerosis.
Sadly his teeth are worn and no one ever cared for him much. He has a crusty lesion on his back. Shelter vets say he needs his bloodwork done, but they don’t want to do it.
So I guess I will die the same way I lived. Unwanted, unloved and alone
Splinter
