Dozens of dogs desperately need loving homes after Ceres hoarding situation

Admin

In Ceres, California, it was a heartbreaking situation on Tuesday as the Stanislaus Animal Services rescued dozens of dogs from a hoarding case. The agency is now seeking loving forever homes for these pups who have endured unimaginable neglect.

Animal services had been called to the home on Hollister Street after Adult Protective Services and the Ceres Police Department entered the home. The Modesto Fire Department found the oxygen levels in the home were measuring at only 16%; primarily due to the amount of ammonia from urine throughout the property, thus preventing animal rescue officers from immediately entering the home

More Than Just Dozens: A Hopeful Rescue Mission

While initial reports stated dozens of dogs, Stanislaus Animal Services has since clarified that a staggering 86 dogs were found living in deplorable conditions. As shocking, four people lived in the home, including a 76-year-old woman and a four-year-old child.

This was the third hoarding situation for the shelter in weeks. Many of the dogs rescued yesterday are suffering from eye issues and severe matting – much of their physical needs emanating from the atrocious living conditions they were made to endure.

Chihuahuas in Need: Special Adoption Event

Among the rescued dogs last week were 38 Chihuahuas, ranging from tiny two-week-old puppies to senior dogs aged eleven. The shelter is holding a special adoption event with a reduced adoption fee of only $7.77 to encourage these deserving Chihuahuas to find loving homes.
