A five-year-old boy’s therapy dog was stolen last week from a boarding kennel in Derbyshire, England. The 11-month-old cockapoo, named Elvis helped the autistic child cope with daily life; his mother, Natallie Cobden is distraught and unable to tell her son and his four-year-old sister that Elvis is missing.
According to the BBCNews, Elvis was stolen along with two other dogs overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday from Brookfield Farm. Police at Derbyshire are investigating but have stated that dog theft is a rare occurrence. The family had been on vacation.
The thieves stole three dogs altogether – Elvis and Tony are cockapoos and Remy is a cocker spaniel. The other 15 dogs at the facility were left untouched.
Meanwhile Natallie can only think about the welfare of Elvis – hoping that he is being fed and cared for in the hands of the thieves. She hasn’t told the children yet.
“Oscar will be devastated. They have a wonderful bond where they just bounce off each other and relax together. Elvis goes wherever Oscar goes. There’s still time to do the right thing. Please just bring Elvis, Remi and Tony home,” Natallie has pleaded to the thieves.
