To say “Mae” is terrified is an understatement. At the Harris County Pets Resource Center, where the Doberman Pinscher / Labrador Retriever has been at the shelter for nearly a month, she is just as scared as she was the day she was surrendered.
Mae sits in her kennel cage – her tail tightly tucked while trying to make herself invisible. Sadly, Mae was surrendered with her sibling because they were said to have been “dog aggressive.” The videographer for Houston &Harris County Animal Volunteers took Mae out of her shelter cage, and there was no such behavior. Mae’s sibling was lucky enough to have been adopted, however it wasn’t much of a consolation for Mae.
Mae needs someone with patience to give this young dog time and room to decompress and begin trusting humans again.
