Two-year-old Rue was transferred from the Palmdale Shelter to Carson Animal Care Center with hope that someone will see her beautiful face and want to adopt her. She seems to be asking why no one loves her?
Volunteers and staff have posted behavioral notes to help Rue find a family who will provide her with the structure and attention she needs; she is a very sweet dog.
“Out in the play yard with other dogs, she sniffed them briefly thru the fence when she arrived, without much interest. Once inside the yard she bypassed the dogs and began to explore. After a few seconds she circled around and began to sniff at her leisure, but when they turned to sniff her back, her hackles went up and she curled her lip and growled for space.
Then she circled back around and started to walk thru the pack of dogs standing in the center of the yard and when they bumped into her body was she quick to growl and bare teeth in warning.
She solicited lots of attention for the handlers. Shelter is requiring large calm dogs for this princess, middle school aged kids and up.”
