UPDATE: Gadget had been reserved for rescue but that reserve fell through. He is rescheduled to die on Sept. 14. PLEASE SHARE.
One last hope is all that Gadget has because he is scheduled to be euthanized at noon on Thursday. Talk about bad luck – the one-and-a-half year-old Gadget was dumped in April by his family because they had “no time” for him. He then went to a foster family with the Animal Care Center and was adopted in June, but returned in July. And now two more months have passed, and no one seems to care about giving this adorable boy a home.
A volunteer writes:
“This young pup is deteriorating in the shelter. As you can see, he just wants some TLC (he learned his head on the kennel door to get some scratchies). Please let’s help this boy find his furever home or a foster who will allow him to decompress and take the time to work on his training.”

According to the shelter notes, Gadget has been social and friendly with all of his caretakers. He is very playful and loves toys. When meeting other dogs, he greets them politely. Most recently, however he has been showing signs of kennel stress. He has been observed to grab and tug on his leash, and he needs out of the shelter and into a home with older teens and positive training and mental stimulation. Who can blame any dog for stressing out in a shelter environment?
“Friendly and affectionate puppy boy Gadget loves playing with his balls. His favorite games are fetch and chahse and he also enjoys playing with all his other toys! Affectionate Gadget has spent time around other dogs and was relaxed and playful! Gadget needs some few extra doggy lessons to for his manners and housetraining. He is enthusiastic and eager to learn…”
